Founder: Dr. Tapasi Rath
Guru Dr Tapasi Rath, a prodigy in dance, began her journey at the age of 4, displaying a natural rhythm and passion. Encouraged by her maternal grandmother, the renowned poetry writer and singer Mrs. Santilata Nayak, Tapasi embraced Odissi dance by having ghungroos tied to her feet. Under the guidance of esteemed mentors such as Guru Gajendrakumar Panda, Guru Nabakishore Mishra, and Guru Subrat Pattnaik, she mastered the various styles of Odissi dance pioneered by Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra, Guru Debaprasad Das, and Guru Pankaj Charan Das. Additionally, she honed her skills in the martial dance form Chhau under Guru Subrat Patnayak. With her dynamic presence, magnetic charisma, and extraordinary talent, Guru Dr Tapasi Rath stands out as one of the most exceptional Odissi dancers in her field. Her performances captivate audiences with graceful movements, agile footwork, and expressive eyes, evoking a heightened state of consciousness.
From an early age, Tapasi garnered acclaim for her outstanding talent, earning recognition from dance enthusiasts. She holds the distinction of being a Nritya Visharad in Odissi and has been awarded the prestigious national scholarship for dance at both the junior and senior levels by Govt of India. Tapasi’s captivating dance has been featured on Indian Television Doordarshan, and her artistry has garnered praise from critics in renowned newspapers and magazines for her performances in various festivals. She has been honored as Natya Sree from Mydream Global Foundation, USA.
While excelling in the realm of dance, Tapasi also holds a Master’s degree in Computer Application (MCA) and is currently working as Project Lead in one of the USA Government agency Social security administration.
Co-founder: Suchilagna Panigrahi
Suchilagna Panigrahi, the co-founder of Nrityasadhna, is a multifaceted artist who excels as a dancer, performer, choreographer, and teacher. Her captivating journey into the world of classical Odissi Dance commenced at the tender age of 5 under the expert tutelage of esteemed Gurus such as Guru Gajendra Panda, Guru Pusparanjan Mangaraj, and Guru Nabakishore Mishra. Through their guidance, she has mastered the diverse forms and styles of Odissi dance pioneered by the revered Gurus Sri Kelucharan Mahapatra and Sri Debaprasad Das. Suchilagna’s artistic prowess has transcended borders, as she has graced countless stages not only across India but also on international platforms. Her performances have been showcased at prestigious festivals organized by the Government of Odisha/India, including renowned events like the Shradhanjali Festival in New Delhi, the Kharavel Festival, the Puri Beach Festival, and the International Dance Festival, among others. She has also had the privilege of captivating audiences in the United States, having performed at esteemed venues such as the MFA Museum in Boston and the Capitol Building in Hartford. Her exceptional performances have reached wide audiences through broadcasts on Doordarshan and the USA’s Fox News Channel.
In addition to her artistic achievements, Suchilagna holds a Nritya Visarad degree in Classical Odissi Dance, a testament to her dedication and expertise in the field. Furthermore, she has pursued academic excellence, holding a Master’s degree in Computer Science. Currently, she works as an Associate Director at Carrier Corporation in the United States, successfully balancing her passion for dance with a thriving professional career.
